PRINCELESS: SAVE YOURSELF
http://www.valkyriesquadron.com/archive/prologue-page-0/
Okay, Wednesdays are now going to be for recommendations.  So, if I have a rec for you that I think solidly speaks to those who love Princeless, I’m going to post it here.
The first one I know I have linked to previously as it is written illustrated by Princeless short story illustrator Jules Rivera.  It’s called Valkyrie Squadron and it’s an amazing piece of work.  It’s a sci-fi action/mystery with some great strong female characters and a plot that will keep you guessing.  If you’re not reading it already, hop to it!

Our second story is one that I believe a lot of people will be excited about.  It’s called
THE SMITHS
The Smith’s is a tale of a young Bedelia smith, the beloved half-dwarf blacksmith who has been doing all of her father’s work as he’s fallen behind.  What I wanted to deliver  with this short is a bit of a look into the life and head of Bedelia, so that people can understand how she became what she is when we meet her, much like the first few pages of Princeless do for Adrienne.
As for the artist on this book, some times you just stumble on someone’s book and fall in love.  I think that both Jules Rivera and I had the same experience…with each other.  I first stumbled on Jules when I was listening to an episode of Cammy’s Comics Corner in which she was talking about A.P.E. and how she had run into Princeless editor Dave Dwonch and bought the first issue of Princeless.  She ranted and raved about how good it was and I knew that I’d found a kindred spirit. So I looked up her site.
It is amazing.  Jules does a fantastic sci-fi comic full of strong female characters called “Valkyrie Squadron”.  I fell in love with it.  Read the first volume online, then ordered in print, then realized she had an option to include a sketch card so I got that as well.  Enough talk, go read it now!
